Certificate of Irish Heritage

The Irish Government has started a new initiative to issue Certificates of Irish Heritage to members of the Irish Diaspora who do not qualify for Irish citizenship as their ancestors left Ireland too long ago. The Certificate of Irish Heritage is an official recognition by the Irish Government of those who are proud of their Irish Ancestor and their own Irish heritage. Irish emigrants made an enormous contribution to societies and communities all over the world, creating opportunities not just for themselves but for those who followed them. Descendants of those emigrants have continued making that contribution, not just in their home countries but also to Ireland in many dimensions but notable among them, Irish culture and economic development. In a global and inter-connected world, the connections that bind us together are more valuable and relevant than ever.
